The Coalition's vision is to lead the effort to achieve self-sustaining households for all in Moore County. In addition to crisis services, a variety of assistance is available to help residents to achieve continuity within their lives.
Employee Assistance
Residents who are employed or have recently obtained employment may request assistance with any work related expense. Many employers require specific uniforms, shoes, or safety gear prior to starting work. With proof of employment, the Coalition may help obtain the necessary items.
Job Counseling
Under or unemployed residents may request help with resume writing, online job applications and interview techniques. Employment Counselors also help clients find available jobs in the community. Representatives from the NC Division of Workforce Solutions are onsite weekly and many local employers utilize the Coalition's Employment office as a referral source.
Mentoring
Mentors partner with clients to help them acquire the resources, skills, and behavioral changes to achieve self-sufficiency. Mentors help set priorities, develop action plans, and connect to resources to help achieve goals. Participation in the mentor program is by invitation.
Resources & Referrals
In addition to direct assistance, the Coalition also maintains information on a wealth of other area services. Our Resource Guide offers information on non-profits and other area agencies. We also maintain lists of available affordable housing and other local resources for low income families.
Each client's circumstances will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Available assistance may vary. Must be a resident of Moore County to qualify.
